Counties Could Face Fines For Opposing Prop 127

Some Arizona towns and counties could face fines for using public resources to oppose Proposition 127. Attorney General Mark Brnovich sent letters to six municipalities reminding them that Arizona has laws prohibiting the use of city or county resources to influence the outcome of elections.

AZ Central reports that the A.G.'s Office is also investigating a press release sent earlier this month by Arizona Corporation Commissioner Andy Tobin opposing Prop. 127.

If approved, the ballot measure would require Arizona electric companies to get 50 percent of their power from renewable sources by 2030.
