Former AZ Congressman Ed Pastor Passes Away

Arizona's first Hispanic member of Congress, Ed Pastor has passed away.  The 75-year-old suffered a heart attack overnight according to his family.

Governor Doug Ducey tweeted this morning his deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.  The Governor has ordered flags across the state to be lowered to half-staff in recognition of the Democrat's 23-years of service to the state and the long lasting impact he will leave on Arizona.

Pastor did not seek re-election and retired in 2015.  He served on the powerful House Appropriations Committee.
