(Phoenix, AZ)  --  The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has approved a 300-thousand dollar settlement for the family of a man who died while in custody at the Maricopa County jail.  In 2015, 27-year-old Anthony Singleton was found dead in his cell from severe opiate and alcohol withdrawal.  The settlement money will go to Singleton's mother and three children.  As part of the settlement, Singleton's family will drop its lawsuit against the county and current sheriff Paul Penzone.  Singleton's death occurred under the watch of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  This is at least the fifth settlement the county has paid for an in-custody death under Arpaio.
