AZ To Use Volkswagen Money For School Buses

Fifty-five school districts and charter schools will soon get new buses, paid for with money from the Volkswagen settlement.  The governor's office has approved the purchase of 142 diesel and alternative fuel school buses, at a price tag of almost 16-million dollars.

More money will be allocated in the near future.  In 2016, the Justice Department sued Volkswagen for modifying its cars to cheat emissions tests.

Arizona has earmarked 38-million dollars of its share for school buses.
