Talking Stick Resort Arena Renovations

(Phoenix, AZ)  The Phoenix City Council is set to vote next week on a plan to renovate Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix, where the Suns play. If the plan is approved, taxpayers would foot 150-million dollars of the anticipated 230-million dollar bill. The city would then  put two million dollars a year into a renovation fund for several years, while the Suns would contribute one million dollars annually.  The NBA team would also build a practice facility elsewhere at its own expense, would continue to pay rent, and would commit to remain at the arena until 2037.
