Bills Reawaken Red for Ed Movement

A handful of new bills introduced in the Arizona Legislature are aimed at teachers and some feel are retribution for the Red for Ed Movement.  It was back in April when tens of thousands hit Phoenix streets to protest education funding.

The Arizona Capitol Times reports the new bills may lead the state Capitol to again be swimming in red. The bills range from requiring an educator code of ethics, prohibit public schools from shutting down, and ban promoting ideology and harassment.

Leaders and supporters of the Red for Ed movement are now calling for renewed action for what they feel is punishment for getting involved in the political process.
