Phoenix City Councilman To Face Recall Election

Michael Nowakowski

(Phoenix, AZ)  --  Phoenix City Councilman Michael Nowakowski will face a recall election.  The city clerk confirms the group "Urban Phoenix Project PAC" turned in enough valid signatures to take the recall effort to voters. The group claims that Nowakowski neglected the needs of his constituents by putting funding for light rail expansion in jeopardy and made negative comments about the LGBT community.  It also questions a downtown land deal involving Nowakowski's private employer. Nowakowski has until January 10th to resign or face a recall election in May.
