(Phoenix, AZ) - Hacienda Healthcare's board of directors is hiring former Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley to conduct an internal investigation, after a woman in a vegetative state gave birth at its facility. Romley says Hacienda says it wants to get to the bottom of what happened and make sure it never happens again.
Romley says he's bringing in an independent medical professional and will be sharing all the information he uncovers with law enforcement, which is conducting a criminal investigation. He says the first thing he's going to do is review security at Hacienda Healthcare.
