A man is dead after being shot by Phoenix police officers this morning. Police say officers made contact with the man on 7th Street north of Northern Avenue, when he pointed a handgun at them. Multiple officers fired their weapons at the man, hitting him.
Phoenix Police said the man is believed to be involved in a break-in at a home in the area overnight, where he stole a car.
No officers were hurt. The dead man has not yet been identified.
