You are being warned by the Arizona Department of Agriculture to protect yourself after 14 skimmers have been discovered at gas stations across Arizona so far this year. Skimmers are devices made up of wires and circuits criminals are using to try to steal your credit card information and pin numbers.
Investigators say those 14-skimmers already found can result in millions of dollars in fraudulent charges.
There are some simple things you can do to protect yourself. Make sure the security tape is intact and there are no broken locks on gas pumps and use pumps that are well lit or pay for gas inside the store.
