Will the real Joe Biden please stand up?
Earlier this week, former Vice President Joe Biden said he would 'seek to heal the racial wounds that have long plagued our country.' The problem for Biden many of the wounds were the ones he helped create.
During the 80's and 90's Biden was the Senate's main crime fighter. He proudly boasted his name was on every crime bill in the Senate going back to 1976. He fought for mandatory minimums and increasing the number of crimes eligible for the death penalty. These policies divided families (before Democrats cared about such things), created a police state in inner cities and helped sell fear to White America.
So, do we really think Joe Biden is the choice to 'heal the racial wounds' when he was the one holding the knife? Not a chance. If he did he'd have to undo his own legacy.
