The Minneapolis City Council has apparently given in to the will of the mob as they voted 12-0 to abolish the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with something "better."
So what will be replacing it? It is being replaced with a "new safety and violence prevention agency."
Minneapolis just replaced something built to "serve and protect" with another agency built to serve and protect? Does anyone see this for what it is as a rebranding effort?
The Police have become scapegoats to address a want for reform. Minneapolis is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. They are throwing a bushel of apples out because of a few bad apples. Is change needed? Yes. Can change happen? Yes. Will change happen? Yes.
However bending your will to a mob mentality that will "burn down the system if they do not get what they want," as Hawk Newsome of the NY BLM said during a television interview, is not the right way to go about things.
Furthermore this is the same Minneapolis City Council that wants to dismantle their own Police Department while spending $4500 per day for private security for their own safety!
This is hypocrisy at its finest! Take away cops from everyone else and put the general safety of your public at risk while keeping private security for yourself and your own safety. Disgusting double standards will plunge Minneapolis into a state of total chaos.
