Governor Doug Ducey announcing Thursday he's extending his executive order extending the closure of gyms, bars, movie theaters, water parks and tubing indefinitely. The order was scheduled to expire on Monday, July 27th. There are several lawsuits pending. One brought by Mountainside Fitness and other gyms. Another brought by a group of bars questioning the legality of the Governor's executive order because it amounts to unequal treatment under the law because other businesses like restaurants are still open.
Regarding schools, Governor Doug Ducey said there will be options for parents including in-person learning for K-12 kids as well as distance learning or online options. He also advised with the help of Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman to check your local district websites for more information.
