Ducey Is Trying To Ruin The Fitness Industry In AZ With His Appeal

Governor Doug Ducey is using every available tool to keep fitness centers closed across Arizona.

The Governor's office is appealing Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Timothy Thomason's ruling requiring the Governor's office to give fitness centers safety guidelines they could follow and them to reopen.

On top of the appeal, Ducey is seeking a motion to delay enforcement of Thomason's ruling. If he is granted that it would prevent gyms from opening until the appeal is heard.

Continuing to keep the fitness industry closed could cause many to close. Mountainside Fitness CEO Tom Hatten told Russell & Hunter on 550 KFYI Ducey's shutdowns have cost the company millions in revenue. As of Wednesday, Hatten also said they plan on reopening their 18 Valley location on Tuesday, August 11th.

Back to the courts we go as Ducey's decisions will cost gyms even more money. It's worth noting in Thomason's decision the state offered no proof COVID19 was spreading inside gyms.
