Nashville City Councilwoman Sharon Hurt seems to want the city to charge people who don't wear masks to be charged with murder or attempted murder. Hurt says, “maybe there needs to be stronger legislation to say that if you do not wear a mask, and you subject exposure of this virus to someone else then there will be some stronger penalty as it is in other viruses that are exposed.” Watch.
What's even better. Hurt has to ask Metro Nashville’s Director of Legislative Affairs Mike Jameson if that's possible. In short he says no, that's up to the state legislature.
So, Nashville has a city council member who wants people to be charged with murder or attempted murder and she isn't even sure how the law making process works.
Welcome to 2020.
