Arizona DPS has issued a Blue Alert after a passenger in a 2008-2013 silver Infiniti G-37 opened fire on a pair of DPS trooper detectives. The detectives were parked in their patrol vehicle this morning near 37th Ave and Portland in Phoenix.
The Infiniti is silver with custom wheels. It has a temporary plate and looks to have chipped paint near the rear license plate area.

The passenger is in custody, identified as a 17-year old male. Police are now trying to locate the driver who fled the scene. He's believed to a Hispanic male in his late teens.
The DPS troopers were parked in support of another operation around 9AM Thursday morning when the Infiniti pulled up and honked. The passenger opened the door and took shots at the officers with a rifle. The officers were able to return fire. The driver then took off leaving the shooter behind. He's now in custody.
Neither DPS Trooper was hurt.
