No matter what DHS or the Biden Administration says the Border must be defined as a crisis. Not a challenge but a full blown crisis of their own doing.
What is worse is that there is no accountability for any actions that have been taken under their watch and all that seems to be happening is blaming the Trump team for their policies and how broken the system is and how it will take a long time to fix it. The Border policy has needed to be addressed for some time but during the Trump administration a policy had been put in place that had worked and controlled the flow of illegal immigration into the United States.
Biden simply wants open borders. They won't come out and say that openly because they can't risk an optics nightmare that will come from it. There is no accountability for anything that is going on. If you want immigration reform you simply cannot tear down what has worked and start from scratch. You have to slowly implement gradual change in order for it to work. This is yet another sign that Biden wants to wipe Trump's fingerprints over this country from ever have existing.
The question is at what cost will that come for the American people?
No accountability really means a lack of real leadership which is what the Biden team has proven to the American people in the brief time they have been in office.
