US House Votes To Give DREAMERs A Path

DREAMERs are children who came to America illegally as children. Most of them were brought with their parents or other relatives when they were underage.

The US House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that would put 2.5 million DREAMERs on a path to citizenship. DREAMERs will be considered eligible if they arrived in the US prior to age 19 and before January 1, 2021.

Note the date and age.

Prior to this legislation, DREAMERs were considered to be underage if they came here under the legal adult age of 18. The date is also curious as many who are considered DREAMERs have been in the country for longer than two months.

Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs said, 'this promise of amnesty is a magnet for aliens attempting to enter the United State today.' As Congressman Biggs says that four busloads of 15 to 17-year-olds were brought from the border to the Dallas Convention Center while the government processes them.

No word on if there is a planned vote on this bill in the Senate.
