President Biden makes decisions for President Biden's benefit. There's no clearer example than promising to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer with a Black woman.
We don't have a problem that. Biden gets to make the pick and sell it however he wants. But, we a problem with the spin from White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
"(Biden) did make a promise to the country. That's certainly how he sees it. And he's going to work hard on this choice seeking advice and counsel from, as I noted earlier, a range of leaders of experts, and that's something that he is already pursuing this week."
That is a lie.
Biden made a promise to one Congressman. South Carolina Democrat Jim Clyburn agreed Clyburn agreed to endorse Biden in the South Carolina primary. The cost of the endorsement was letting Clyburn control Biden's first Supreme Court nomination. That's how politics works. Back room deals and quid pro quos.
So this choice isn't for We The People. It's to pay off Clyburn. Biden wouldn't be in the White House without him. This deal shows Biden's true character. He was willing to trade his most important job as president, nominating a Justice.
It proves everything is always about one person, Joe Biden. He will do whatever he has to do to win.
