Social Media Is Digital Herpes

What’s your Digital Legacy? Your digital legacy is what you post online. Are you thoughtful about what you post? Are you a troll? There are lots of different approaches to posting on social.

For example, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. He's about to be drafted by the NFL, maybe as the number one pick. A few years ago when he was a teenager he posted some really dumb things. The NFL is working to hide those. But, since those tweets are like herpes they will flare back up at some point.

In looking at Burrow's example, there’s a learning and a teaching opportunity. We can use Burrow as a way to teach our kids about posting on social media as logic tells us everything we post online lasts forever. But, forever means something different when you are 40 versus when you are 14.

Mike Russell walks us through how he teaches his kids about living their lives online. Rob Hunter explains his theory as to how social media has changed the way humans think.

It’s a great discussion to have over a beer. This week The Brewmance grabs Oskar Blues Brewing‘s (Boulder, CO ) Hotbox Coffee Porter. Have you tried it? What did you think? We’d love your beer suggestions. Email us at cheers@brewmance.beer.

We’d love if it you joined us for more interesting, open minded conversations on FacebookInstagram and YouTube. Catch The Brewmance On The Radio Saturday nights on 550 KFYI in Phoenix or stream it anywhere by searching KFYI on the iHeartRadio App.
